The Reality of the Spirit Realms:
Devils are real. They seek to kill, steal and destroy. Jesus Christ is real. He has come to save the lost and to heal and deliver His people. He has sent His Holy Spirit who comforts, enlightens and empowers us to believe, receive, love, trust and serve in the name of Jesus to the full glory of God.
What’s in your body?
Devils, also called demons, are disembodied spirits. They seek the moisture of your body to acquire what they do not have. Moisture denotes the qualities of true life.
Matthew 12:43-45 "When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walks through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none.
Then he says, I will return into my house from which I came out; and when he is come, he finds it empty, swept, and garnished.
Then he goes and takes with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be unto this wicked generation."
A filthy Domicile:
The demon or unclean spirit makes a nest in you. It dwells in you. It establishes a filthy domicile in which to manifest wickedness in and from you.
Are you ready to shut the doors?
It’s going in and coming out is merely to increase its established residency with more of its own kind. Until you take a stand and shut the door it will not leave permanently. You must cast it out.
Jesus commissioned the twelve to cast out demons (Mark 16:7).
The seventy He sent out returned rejoicing, saying Lord, even the devils are subject to us through your name (Luke 10:17)
In Mark 16:17 Jesus declares the first sign of your faith as a believer to be that you use His overcoming power over death, hell and the grave to cast out devils followed closely by the signs of speaking in new tongues and laying hands on the sick and seeing them recover (Mark 16:18-19)
Why deliverance?
The reason devils must be cast out of believers by believers is because they have divine legal right to their stay. Their validity of residency is based on scripture. Curses are their validity. Curses are their right to live in you.
Curses are the consequence of sin:
Deuteronomy 27:9-10 "And Moses and the priests the Levites spoke to all of Israel, saying, Take heed and harken, O Israel; This day you have become the people of the Lord your God.
You shall therefore obey the voice of the Lord your God, and do His commandments and His statutes, which I command you this day."
The remainder of chapter 27 and chapter 28 describe numerous curses decreed as punishment for sinful disobedience to God’s prescribed way of life.
We are all born under the curses God put on the serpent, Adam, Eve and the ground before casting Adam and Eve out of their presence with the tree of life and the Garden of Eden.
We also allow curses to be spoken over us through sinful chastisements. We even curse ourselves with all sorts of wrongful thoughts, words and actions.
Exodus 20:5 "You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them (them being idols or false gods which are other ways of referring to demons) For the Lord your God is a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me."
Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, which keeps covenant and mercy with those who love Him and keep His commandments to a thousand generations
To sin is to break with God:
The curse is the consequence, in many instances it is generational even in the case of the bastard spirit which comes with the curse for illegitimacy for the term of ten generations (Deuteronomy 23:2-3)
Reason for deliverance:
Jesus told believers in Him that their sinful ways made them children of the devil (John 8:31/37-41) It made them and it makes us vulnerable to bondage. Demonic oppression enslaves us until we are delivered of it.
Ancestral justification for demonic oppression:
This bondage is generational. You can inherit curses and demons. Demons can also be imposed and even self invoked through sinful acts and curses.
Cancels the Demons right to cast it out:
The only way to get rid of a demon is to get rid of its validity. The curse which validates its residency must be cancelled. To cancel a curse the time lapse of its punishment must pass or the sin which brought it on must be contritely confessed and reputed of
Numbers 32:13 "The Lord’s anger was kindled against Israel, and He made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation that had done evil in the sight of the Lord was consumed."
A biblical generation:
A biblical generation is forty years. President Thomas Jefferson fathered thirty illegitimate children according to respected authority who authored biographies on numerous American presidents. The curses on the descendants of those children has approximately 170 years remaining.
SYMPTOMS OF DEMONIC OPPRESSION
(How to tell if you have demons)
After this, you may be asking, “How do I know if I have a demon?”
There are some obvious symptoms of demonic activity. Here are a few we’ve come to discern and know:
Lack of Control in Any Part of Your Life
Lack of control of what you think or do. If your emotions are out of control or you are addictive, you have a demon. The flesh has taken on a passenger that is now exercising you to want or do beyond your ability to stop.
Moods and Mood Swings
Emotional roller coasters, and/or depression are evidences of demons. Although medicine wants to attribute such to chemical imbalances, we have clearly seen that it is simply a choice of the will. We choose to receive a spirit into our life that provides the mood. (For more about this, we have a tape aboiut deliverance from depression.)
Living in the Past or Future
The church has been doing this. We hear and read so much about “when.” We live now, not “when.” There is no promise of tomorrow. If everything is for tomorrow, we may miss it. We have already missed what is past. What about today? Is there any victory today? Is there anything to praise God for now? Can we know and see God’s Hand today, or must we wait until the rapture or something else? Living in the past or future is demonic. It is the subtle work of demons in your life and in your mind.
Difficulty Maintaining Your Christian Walk
Having trouble praying, studying the Bible, praising or walking in the principles of God. Often stumbling and have difficulty doing the things that God calls you to do is evidence of the demonic working to hinder you. Every believer should be able and want to pray, study God’s Word, freely raise their hands and be clamorously foolish before God. One should be able to dance, sing and rejoice in the Lord without any limitations or self-consciousness. If you can’t, you need deliverance. If God wants me – no commands me – to be hallalling (which means to be clamorously foolish before Him) Him, then I should be free to do it. If I need to get on my knees or fall on my face or whatever I need to do in the presence of anybody I should be free enough in Christ to do it. If not, I need help.
Continual Defeat in External Areas of LIfe
Continual problems in finances, in family relations, in health, in possessions — indicates there’s a “booger” working. Where is this thing? It’s in you. Anytime we are conscious of what we’re doing or how we’re talking or what were saying, and we’re aware that something is not right, we’re discerning a demonic thing in our life — If I’m talking too much, what’s prompting me to do this? What is exercising me to do this? We are called to liberty and victory not such bondage! Wake up, Saint, it’s time to possess the land!
For a believer to realize he has demons and not get them out is a mockery. For a minister of the Lord Jesus Christ to see demons manifesting and let them remain is a travesty. For a pastor to tell me, ”My people need this,“ and then not provide it for them is more than a travesty to me. If I have the authority and power to set you free and you have any inkling at all of wanting free, and I don’t do it, I will answer to God. To whom much is given, much is required. It is not optional. People say, “I’m glad you have this ministry and not me.“ I say, ”You have it too! We all have it.”
We must respond to the authority and power with true desire, not need. We know that people need it, but do they want it? Do I want it? God help us find those who want it and God deliver us from those who don’t. I personally don’t want to walk with those who refuse deliverance, because they can’t trusted. Eventually the demons will get between us.
If you are still struggling with this, I challenge you to honestly and sincerely get before God and say, “Lord show me.”
He will.
